Museocon will be back at Vapriikki on Saturday 9 November.

Museocon is a role-playing and cosplay convention happening at a Museum Center. There will be workshops, presentations, games, cosplay-themed programme, artist alley and music and dance performances. The Museocon programme is included in the Vapriikki admission fee, with free admission to the artist alley and the museum restaurant.

Most of the programme is in Finnish, but here you can find programme items that are either in English or you can attend to without speaking Finnish.

11.00–18.45 Artist Alley
The Artist Alley is a place where amateur artists and craftspeople sell their works and products. You can buy prints, stickers, jewellery, pins, fan art and much more.

16.30-17 Cosplay show 
Have you always wanted to show off your cosplay costume on stage? Now’s your chance at the Museocon cosplay show! Whether you have made your costume yourself, modified a ready-made garment or bought a ready-made costume, welcome to participate in Museocon’s cosplay show. The stage part does not include a performance and is not a competition. You can participate on your own or with a friend. The registration is open at the Museocon information desk 10-15.

16.30–17.15 Joleen Blom: Romance Games in Japanese Culture 
Otome games are blooming in Japan. In her talk, Dr. Joleen Blom zooms in on otome games, romance games for women: what is the history of these games in Japan, why would someone play otome games, what do these games look like, and how are they played now?
